New Singapore Air Force Chief
The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) welcomed the incoming Chief of Air Force (CAF), Brigadier General Kelvin Fan Sui Siong at a Change of Command Parade in Tengah Air Base. Also in attendance was the Chief of Defence Force (CDF), Vice Admiral Aaron Beng alongside senior Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) personnel.
Brig Gen Kelvin Fan has been serving since 1998 and held a range of senior positions within the MOD and SAF, previously the Commanding Officer of 163 Squadron, Head Air Plans, Director of the Defence Policy Office, Head Air Operations, Commander Air Defence and Operations Command, Chief of Staff – Air Staff, Chief of Staff – Joint Staff and Deputy Secretary (Policy).
Brig Gen Kelvin Fan replaces Major General Kelvin Khong who has led the RSAF since March 2019. Maj Gen Khong oversaw the attainment of full operational capability for the A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft, the Aster 30 Ground Based Air Defence system, and the acquisition of the F-35 fighter aircraft to enhance the RSAF’s operational edge. -shp/adj/dl (Pix:SG MINDEF)
