STM will be presenting its naval platforms and tactical mini unmanned aerial systems to Southeast Asian countries at the 17th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2025), one of the largest defence exhibitions in the Asia Pacific region. The exhibition will take place from May 20-24 on Langkawi Island, Malaysia. At LIMA, STM will showcase models of six distinguished naval projects, including the Malaysian Corvette (LMS Batch-2), marking Turkiye’s first and only corvette export to the Asia-Pacific region. Additionally, the exhibition will feature models of Turkiye’s national frigate project I-Class Frigate (TCG ISTANBUL), Portuguese Navy – Auxiliary Oiler Replenisher and Logistics Ship, the STM MPAC Multi Purpose Attack Craft and the STM500 Submarine.

TCG BUYUKADA Corvette Heading to Malaysia

The TCG BUYUKADA corvette, the second vessel of the MİLGEM Project delivered to the Turkish Navy, in which STM played a critical role, is en route to Malaysia to participate in the LIMA Exhibition.

Combat Proven Tactical Mini UAV Systems

The company, which has played a pioneering role in Türkiye and the world in the development tactical mini unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), will be presenting its KARGU platform at the event, as Turkiye’s first national attack UAV. Since its launch, KARGU, which can be equipped with anti-personnel and armour-piercing warheads, has to date been exported to more than 10 countries on three continents. STM will also be displaying its TOGAN Surveillance UAV, which has now entered the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces and is being actively used in the fight against terrorism, as well as achieving remarkable export figures, and its BOYGA ammunition-drop UAV, at LIMA-2025.

STM’s New Naval Platform to Make Its Debut

STM General Manager Ozgür Guleryuz emphasised the strong defence and security cooperation between Turkiye and Malaysia, stating:

“As STM, we are proud to have marked Turkiye’s first corvette export to the Asia Pacific region by developing three corvettes based on the Ada-Class design for the Royal Malaysian Navy. The construction of these corvettes began in Istanbul last year and continues successfully. In addition to our commitment to the Turkish Navy, we aim to remain a reliable partner for navies ranging from Portugal and Ukraine to Malaysia and Pakistan. Guided by our vision of introducing innovative and flexible defence solutions to the world, we are honoured to participate in LIMA 2025. At this event, we will showcase a groundbreaking, multi-mission naval platform design for the first time. Furthermore, through the strategic partnerships we plan to establish, we aim to increase our collaboration in the Southeast Asian region. With our expanding global presence, we are determined to strengthen strategic cooperation opportunities in Malaysia and neighbouring countries.”–stm/adj/dl (Pix:STM, NATO)
