MBDA, KAI Sign KF-21 SPEAR Missile MOU
MBDA and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) signed the SPEAR Missile Integration Cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) to enhance the KF-21’s Sustainable Air-to-Ground Armament Expansion.
Signed at the Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2025, KAI announced the inking with the MBDA’s UK office, the leading global company in missile manufacturing. The agreement is aimed at expanding the integration of the SPEAR next generation air launched Surface Attack Weapon onto the export‑configuration KF‑21 fighter‑jet being developed which already carries MBDA’s METEOR long‑range air‑to‑air missile (AAM), adding the SPEAR missile would considerably enhance its air‑to‑ground lethality.
Both companies have expressed a commitment to further expand armament integration and strengthen joint efforts to promote the KF‑21 and its associated weapons package in international markets.In November 2023, KAI and MBDA UK formalised a strategic partnership focused on enhancing the armament capability of Korean‑made aircraft as well as sharing marketing information for prospective export customers.–-shp/adj/dl (Pix:KAI, MBDA)
