World’s Lightest Belt-Fed LMGs Make Asian Debut
FIGHTLITE, an American company showcased their latest AMG-3 (Assault Machine Gun) and AMG-2 5.56mm belt-fed light machine guns with a twist which they have dubbed the world’s lightest. Weighing just 4.2kg and 3.9kg respectively, AMG-3 and AMG-2 are dual-feed platforms that can work with STANAG M16/M4 rifle magazines or M27 linked belt ammunition. Both platforms boast a 50% weight reduction compared to an M249 SAW LMG which greatly improves the fighting capabilities of its operators.

The AMG-3 is an improved AMG-2 with newer patented internal workings and an innovative patented left-to-right side opening feed cover, further differentiating itself with others in the category. This gives operators a full length picatinny top rail for optics and various other accessories compared to conventional top-opening LMGs.
Also featured in the AMG-3, the quick change barrel latch is protected under the side-opening cover and doubles as a safety measure while changing the barrels of comprising 12.5”, 16.25” and 20” length options as the feed cover needs to be opened before the barrel can be removed. The barrels can be changed in under three seconds without the use of any tools.
Furthermore, the company is marketing its upper receiver conversion kits that can be paired flawlessly with any military-spec AR15/M4/M16 lower receiver.
