Edge Empowers Regional Readiness With Integrated Defence Solutions
THE Southeast Asian security landscape presents multiple challenges for regional forces across the air, land, and sea domains. Personnel and assets are stretched across demanding environments as asymmetric threats, including insurgency, drug trafficking, and piracy seek to capitalise on operational constraints.
At Defense & Security Thailand (D&S Thailand) 2025, EDGE is showcasing its highly competitive portfolio of solutions for forces seeking the latest technology in precise and reliable monitoring, detecting, tracking, and nullifying threats.
Safeguarding borders, infrastructure, and territorial waters quickly becomes an overwhelming task when facing a range of threats with distinct goals and motives. Prevention and rapid countering are an imperative. In this context, armed forces and security organisations are required to consider force multiplier technologies that enable advanced and constant tactical awareness, backed up by a comprehensive ability to counter when needed.
Recent insurgent activities in the region have highlighted the major issue of sporadic and violent attacks against security and police infrastructure, public spaces, religious gatherings, and retail areas. Combatting and countering these activities starts with sufficient situational awareness. Similarly, a high degree of observation is needed along borders where armed attacks and drug trafficking have been well documented. EDGE is presenting three AI-enhanced solutions at D&S Thailand aimed at addressing these challenges while reducing the cognitive burden on personnel. The BORDERSHIELD is a next-generation autonomous surveillance system providing integrated and persistent awareness and security. Through fusing the cutting-edge NEXUS command-and-control (C2) system, a high-power cellular system, a thermal-optical camera, and a radar, end- users gain the tactical edge to identify and effectsuspiciousactivitysuchasremote improvised explosive device (IED) activation.
For forces seeking individual solutions to integrate into operations, EDGE is offering the MIRSAD-X and MIRSAD-R gyro-stabilised multi-spectral electro-optics (EO) imagers. The MIRSAD-X ground- and naval-based EO system supports real- time detection, tracking, localisation, and targeting for laser-guided munitions, as well as maritime and border surveillance. The MIRSAD-R is a compact variant for long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAVs), providing multi-spectral capabilities, advanced image processing, and a laser designator for optimal surveillance, reconnaissance, and target acquisition.
With asymmetric threats increasing access to UAV technology, EDGE is offering advanced air surveillance solutions that can be integrated into existing air defence systems. The TAWAQ-X is a short-range, low-altitude, 3D X-band radar providing close-in awareness for detecting and tracking UAVs, including micro- UAVs. The TAWAQ-S is a ground-based 3D S-band surveillance radar suited for border protection, coastal surveillance, and counter rocket, artillery and mortar (C-RAM) applications.
The challenge of countering asymmetric threats also extends to the maritime domain. Regional naval forces have the critical mission to project power and deter air threats across multiple waters. In understanding this requirement, EDGE is offering the SKYSHIELD-N counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) solution and SKYKNIGHT air defence missile system.
The SKYSHIELD-N is a state-of-the- art C-UAS solution combining jamming and spoofing for reliable point protection. Jamming the full GNSS spectrum, the SKYSHIELD also spoofs the full commercial GNSS spectrum to protect a specified area of interest.

The SKYKNIGHT is a rapidly deployable and inner-layer air defence missile system available in land and naval variants. Capable of tracking and neutralising up to 80 incoming targets at one time, the SKYKNIGHT offers comprehensive protection against a variety of conventional and asymmetric threats, including fighter aircraft, UAVs, cruise missiles, and rockets.
EDGE’s display at D&S Thailand represents a direct alignment to the security challenges that the region’s forces are facing. The first step to combatting the range of evolving threats requires persistent surveillance capabilities, and countering these threats requires reliable technologies that safeguard the sovereignty of Southeast Asian nations.
