Indra Lanza 3D Radar For Royal Thai Navy

INDRA secured its first contract with the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) for the Lanza 3D radar, adding to those already awarded by the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF). The company maintains a strong position in the Asian defence market, where it has been operating for several decades and has earned the recognition and trust of key countries.

Indra will deploy a Lanza 3D radar at the RTN’s main naval installation–Sattahip naval base which is also the gateway to the Bay of Bangkok. With this contract, the company strengthens its position as a leader in the modernisation of Thailand’s surveillance systems. Indra’s Lanza 3D radar will enable monitoring of all airspace and surrounding waters of this strategic site, providing high integrated detection capability and the ability to identify new threats such as small drones. The system is complemented by several command and control stations, also supplied by Indra, which provide
great operational flexibility and will facilitate task distribution and prioritisation in order to ensure effective protection of adjacent coastal areas and airspace.

The system incorporates AESA technology, the capability to detect targets with a low radar cross section, and is specifically designed to operate in high-humidity environments, as it works in the L-band, which is particularly suitable and robust for such conditions. Indra’s ability to tailor the solution to the customer’s specific requirements was another key differentiating factor of the proposal.

This contract is the first secured by Indra with the RTN and adds to the long-range Lanza 3D radars
awarded by the RTAF in 2018. This position is the result of decades of work in the Asian region, where Indra has offices and operational centres in several countries, enabling it to earn the trust and recognition of key nations such as India, the Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia, among others.–-shp/adj/dl (Pix:INDRA)
