Global Component Asia and South Korea’s Vessel Aerospace Set to Propel Malaysian Aerospace Industry to New Heights

KUALA LUMPUR — Global Component Asia Sdn Bhd (GCA) and South Korea’s Vessel Aerospace Co., Ltd. (VA) join forces under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to revolutionise the aerospace landscape in Malaysia. This ground breaking partnership sets the stage for new technological advancements, enhanced manufacturing capabilities, and top-notch aftermarket support within the region.

The MoU between GCA and VA paves the way for an array of ambitious initiatives, including a joint venture or technology transfer endeavour to establish state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities for Light Sport Aircraft and other aerial vehicles in Malaysia, and this collaboration is set to redefine the boundaries of aerial transportation, GCA said in a May 24 press release.

GCA and VA is looking to collaborate on the development of electrical aerial vehicles (AEV), encompassing ground breaking Urban Air Mobility (UAM) solutions. Through technology transfer, VA will empower Malaysia to become a hub for sustainable aviation solutions, propelling the nation into a greener era.

GCA and VA are set to develop comprehensive Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities, catering to the aftermarket requirements of the aerospace industry. By enhancing efficiency and quality, this collaborative effort will bolster Malaysia’s position as a trusted MRO hub.

The partnership extends beyond manufacturing and maintenance. GCA and VA will jointly market VA’s cutting-edge products and related capabilities throughout Malaysia, covering both civil and law enforcement / defence sectors.

This strategic marketing collaboration aims to drive the widespread adoption of advanced aerospace solutions and solidify Malaysia’s position as a regional aviation powerhouse.

As a part of their commitment to excellence, GCA and VA will prioritise the development of training programmes to equip individuals with the necessary skills for effective application and maintenance of the products resulting from their collaborative initiatives. By empowering a skilled workforce, the partnership ensures seamless implementation and ongoing support for the projects.
