Japan and South Korea will join a large-scale US-led multinational air exercise in Guam’s Andersen Air Force Base from Feb 5 to Feb 23. Held annually, Exercise Cope North will take place over a period of two weeks with over 80 aircraft and as many as 3,000 personnel from South Korea, Japan, Australia, the US, France and Canada. The Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) will dispatch 60 personnel and two CASA CN-235 transport aircraft to participate in a series of drills including aerial medical evacuation, personnel and cargo drops, and joint formation flights with the CN-235s operated by the French Air and Space Force (FASF) to exchange operational knowledge on the platform.
