ROSOBORONEXPORT JSC (part of Rostec State Corporation) showcased the latest Russian naval products at the recent International Maritime Defense Show “FLEET-2024” in Kronstadt, Rusia on June 19-23.
The exhibition, in particular, saw the premier show of the Russian-design autonomous surface and underwater vehicles. Russia’s special exporter Rosoboronexport demonstrated for the first time in an outdoor display area the unmanned motor boats Orcan, Vizir, ASV-1000 and the autonomous unmanned vehicle MMT-300.
Company Director-General Alexander Mikheev said the trend towards the use of unmanned technologies in planning and conducting military and counter-terrorism operations has today affected all domains of warfare, including surface and underwater ones.
“Following global trends, Russian defense companies have developed a line of advanced unmanned motor boats capable of carrying various payloads. We will offer foreign partners to cooperate in building network-centric systems with integrated unmanned motor boats and autonomous unmanned vehicles, as well as in introducing the over-the-horizon operation concept using Russian robotic systems.”
Orcan is the most compact presented drone with a length of 5.3 metres. It can accommodate a target load for various purposes. The ASV-1000 can also be equipped with payloads for various purposes; it is already 7m long and capable of carrying up to 1 tonne of load. The largest drone on display, Vizir, is capable of speeds of up to 45 knots; its range up to 435km, and its length is also 7m.
