New defence minister, national security advisor for South Korea

SOUTH Korean president, Yoon Suk Yeol named a new defence minister and national security advisor. The new defence minister nominee, Kim Yong-hyun is a former Lieutenant General in the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) and headed the Presidential Security Service (PSS) since May 2022. He replaces Shin Won-sik, another former ROKA Lt Gen who has been elevated to position of national security advisor. Meanwhile, the outgoing national security advisor takes on a newly created position–special advisor for foreign affairs and security.-shp/adj/dl (Pix:KBS NEWS)
