BHIC AEROSERVICES SDN BHD (BHICAS), a joint venture company between Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad and Airbus, signed a Back-to-Back Full By the Hour agreement with Airbus Helicopters Malaysia to support EC725 helicopters (now known as H225M) of Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).

The ceremony took place at LIMA 2023 on May 25, 2023. BHICAS is the only Airbus Service Centre in the region authorised to provide a range of services to Airbus military helicopters.

The collaboration will increase the operational availability of RMAF’s helicopter fleet thus boost Malaysia’s aerial transportation capability.

The Royal Malaysian Air Force’s fleet of 12 H225M helicopters has been in service since 2012. Designed for the most demanding missions, these H225Ms have participated in various exercises and humanitarian missions, including flood rescue and lifesaving operations. Together, they have achieved over 30,000 flight hours.

A combat-proven multi-purpose and versatile asset, the H225M enables military forces to deploy wherever and whenever needed. Currently, about 160 H225Ms are in service across the world. Besides Malaysia, the H225M is relied upon by Brazil, France, Indonesia, Mexico, Kuwait, Singapore and Thailand to support their most demanding missions. — bhic/adj/mhi (Pix: BHIC)
