Taiwan’s Narwhal sub tests 60% complete
TAIWAN’S indigenous Narwhal submarine has completed 60% of its harbour acceptance tests (HAT), with more than ten issues to rectify.
The Republic of China Navy (ROCN) Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Chiu Chun Jung shot down claims of the submarine being riddled with issues at a press conference. Stating that the vessel will then proceed to sea acceptance trials and is slated for a November 2025 delivery date.
Named the Hai Kun, the submarine is the lead boat in its class of seven planned attack submarines. The vessels would be built in batches of two, three and two from 2025-2038.-shp/adj/dl (Pix:CNA)
