ISAR 2024 opens in Kuala Lumpur
SEARCH and Rescue (SAR) professionals from military, paramilitary and non-governmental organisations (NGO) along with industry practitioners gathered in Kuala Lumpur’s Royale Chulan Hotel for the 10th International Search and Rescue Conference and Exhibition (ISAR) 2024 from September 9-11.
Showrunners Global SAR Resources are supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Transport and sees participation from the Malaysian Ministry of Defence, Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), Home Ministry and its security agencies such as the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) and Malaysia Coast Guard (MCG).
With a theme of“Global Resilience: Uniting Technology and Humanity for Safer Communities”, ISAR 2024 features insightful talks on the latest in unmanned and other SAR technology , industry practices, medical knowledge as well as the challenges in a demanding field of work, spanning SAR operations across the air, sea and land.
CEO of Global SAR Resources, former Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Major Murali Bhaskaran said that the key objectives of ISAR 2024 are to facilitate international partnership and knowledge sharing in SAR, highlight the newest technological advancements, emphasise the vital role of SAR personnel and volunteers. “Five plenary sessions by over 50 speakers from all over the world will be the agenda on the first two days while visits to SAR agencies will close the third and final day,”Murali added.
