Hanwha Sends More K9 Thunders To Norway

HANWHA Aerospace has shipped four units of the 155mm K9 Thunder VIDAR (Versatile Indirect Artillery system) self-propelled howitzers (SPH) and eight K10 ammunition resupply vehicles (ARV) to Norway. It is anticipated to arrive in two months time and undergo inspections before delivery to the Norwegian Armed Forces.

A Hanwha Aerospace social media post said, “We’re proud to announce the successful shipment of additional K9 SPHs and K10 ARVs to Norway. This latest delivery of 4 K9 VIDAR and 8 K10 vehicles builds upon our successful first contract from 2017.”

The K10 is built on the K9’s chassis, sharing components and characteristics, it is capable of supporting the K9 with 104 rounds of 155mm ordnance and 504 charges via its fully automated ammunition resupply system.

Norway’s Defence Material Agency (NDMA) and Hanwha Aerospace signed a contract in 2017 for 24 K9s and 6 K10s. Following the successful completion In November 2022, Hanwha Aerospace received another contract from Norway for four more K9s and eight more K10s to be delivered in two years.
