Secretary Of War Arrives In Malaysia For ADMM-Plus

THE United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth touched down in Malaysia for the upcoming ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) organised alongside the ADMM. His arrival marks the first official visit of the Secretary to Malaysia since his appointment earlier this year.

Arriving from Japan where he met with Japan’s newly appointed defence minister Shinjiro Koizumi, Hegseth will engage with his Malaysian counterpart and host Khaled Nordin in a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the ADMM-Plus meeting in addition to various multilateral meetings.

Next, the secretary is expected to travel to Vietnam, and South Korea, with plans to visit the Joint Security Area inside the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) separating North and South Korea. Additionally, he will meet with South Korean president Lee Jae Myung and his South Korean counterpart Ahn Gyu-back.
