BHIC Bofors Asia Wins RM15.7 Million Contract

LANGKAWI – A joint venture company of Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad, BHIC Bofors Asia Sdn Bhd (BBA) has signed a contract worth RM15.7 million at the recent LIMA 2023.

The contract was for the supply and delivery of spare parts, maintenance and training services for Bofors 57mm/L70 cannons for the Royal Malaysian Navy for the period of September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2025.

Representing BBA at the signing was its Chief Executive Officer, Azhar Abdullah.

The Royal Malaysian Navy has adopted the Bofors 57mm naval gun for a number of its ships including on its old but still serving Fast Attack Crafts, the Kasturi-class corvettes, the Lekiu-class frigates and the much delayed Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) project, of which five ships are currently under construction. –bhic/adj/mhi (Pix: BHIC)
