Boeing Grounds Indonesia F-15EX Deal
BOEING announced that it is no longer building the F-15EX fighter aircraft for Indonesia which had remained in the air since August 2023 when a deal for 24 F-15EXs was signed by Indonesia’s defence ministry and the company.
Speaking to reporters at the Singapore Airshow 2026, Boeing Defense vice president of business development and strategy Bernd Peters said, “In terms of our (F-15) partnership with Indonesia, it is no longer an active campaign for us.”
Indonesia had committed to procuring as many as 24 F-15EX fighters just after a major deal with France’s Dassault for 42 Rafale fighter jets, which would have given Indonesia’s air force a major boost in air power. In February 2022, the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) under the US Department of Defense announced the possible sale of the F-15EX and related equipment to Indonesia, valued at up to US$13.9 billion.
