Ready, Aim, MeOpta

PRECISION optics goes beyond small arms, with various applications in the military, law enforcement and civilian world. The Czech Republic’s MeOpta has been producing quality optical and opto-electronic systems for both domains, to even medical and industrial applications since 1933.

MeOpta’s line of producs comprises reflex sights, magnifiers, riflescopes, night vision devices (NVD), binoculars and spotting scopes. Their range of reflex sights feature OLED displays which offer enhanced clarity for target acquisition while the sight’s reticles can be customised. Aside from that, the reflex sights use several aiming marks with electronic ballistics and rectification settings for specific weapons or calibres.

For riflescopes, MeOpta has compact riflescopes and dedicated riflescopes, for which compact ones are designed for close-quarters and medium-to-long-range shooting while the riflescopes cover a myriad of magnifications for designated marksmen and long-range precision shooters. The riflescopes have a range of 1-4,3-12,6-24 and 5-30 times magnification.

For added attachments, the company offers magnifiers in 3 and 5 times magnification that flip to the side quickly as well as NVDs that can be paired with daytime scopes. Meopta can customise the NVD with different image intensifier tubes in order to optimise the device for its intended use.

In the industrial military application, MeOpta manufactures and tests the UTAAS unique fire control technology from Saab present in the CV90 infantry fighting vehicles (IFV).

Present at Indo Defence, MeOpta is upbeat on its prospects and anticipating major interest in the region with competitive offers in coming exhibitions. The company also added that several major announcements may be expected in the near future.
