Surge in Participation for DSA 2020

Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2020, Asia’s largest and leading defence and security exhibition, is on track for another stellar show with a high profile showcase of cutting-edge defence and security technology and services from around the world.   

Scheduled to be held from April 20-23, 2020 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, DSA 2020 together with National Security Asia (NATSEC Asia) 2020 have already received overwhelming response from leading international defence and security companies.

During the recent IDEX 2019 exhibition held in Abu Dhabi, Malaysian chief of army, Gen Dato’ Seri Panglima Ahmad Hasbullah Haji Mohd Nawawi witnessed the signing ceremony of participation contracts from four country pavilions and four independent participants at the DSA 2020 booth. The country groups comprised of the United States, Italy, Switzerland and Germany while the independent participants were FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A S from Turkey; Jadara Equipment & Defence System Co from Jordan, Milkor (Pty) Ltd from South Africa and Yugoimport-SDPR from the Republic of Serbia.

Due to return are the show’s staple programmes such as the Chief of Army Roundtable Talks (ChART), contract signing ceremony, and Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings. Other highlights at the show will include the army command centre, cyber defence and security zone, drone demonstration, innovation talks, and a segment for UAVs and combat artificial intelligence. The show promises a display of the world’s sophisticated hardware and electronic warfare in land, air and sea defence, border protection, citizen identification, artificial intelligence, battlefield healthcare products/technology, training and simulation systems and police and homeland security peripherals.

Gen Ahmad Hasbullah later witnessed the signing of a sponsorship agreement between MBDA and DSA Exhibition & Conference for the VIP recreational and networking programme during DSA 2020. At press time, more than 40% of the space booking has already been confirmed while about 50% has already been reserved.

DSA 2020 is fully supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), and other agencies. The show is organised by DSA Exhibition and Conference. The event will build on the resounding success of DSA 2018 with an expected participation of some 1,500 companies from the global defence and security sector from more than 60 countries. Over 33 international pavilions are expected and DSA 2020 plans to attract more than 350 VIP delegations from over 30 countries.
