Vietnam and Philippines Establish Maritime Hotline

Vietnam and the Philippines have agreed to establish a hotline to improve communication between the Philippine’s Coast Guard (PCG) and the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG). A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed during the state visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr to Hanoi. Witnessed by President Marcos and Vietnamese President Vo Van Thoung, the deal was inked by PCG chief Adm Ronnie Gil Gavan and his Vietnamese counterpart, Maj Gen Le Quang Dao.

With the MoU, both sides hoped for understanding, mutual trust and confidence to be strengthened between both coast guards while promoting, preserving and protecting common interests in Southeast Asia. shp/adj/dl (Pix:Philippine Coast Guard)
