GLOBAL Exhibitions & Conferences (GEC), co-organiser of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2027 (LIMA 2027), formalised new industry participation and a strategic partnership during a Participation Contract Handover Ceremony held at the MATRADE, Malaysia Pavilion, during the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 (FIA 2026).
The ceremony was witnessed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence Malaysia, Lokman Hakim Ali, together with the Chief of Air Force, General Muhamad Norazlan Aris. The LIMA 2027 participation contracts were presented by Azizan Ariffin, Chairman of Global Exhibitions & Conferences (GEC), to Pilatus Aircraft Ltd., RUAG, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), Glenair and Team Defence Australia, formally confirming their participation in the upcoming exhibition.
The participation commitments reflect continued international confidence in LIMA 2027 as an important platform for the aerospace, maritime, defence, technology, innovation and commercial sectors.
Collectively, the participating organisations bring complementary strengths across the aerospace and defence value chain. Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. is recognised for its advanced military pilot training platforms, including the PC-21; RUAG contributes extensive expertise in aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul and lifecycle support; KAI brings advanced aircraft development capabilities through programmes such as the T-50, FA-50 and KF-21; and
Glenair specialises in high-reliability interconnect technologies for mission-critical aerospace, defence, land, sea and space applications. Team Defence Australia further strengthens the international dimension by providing a platform for Australian defence industry companies to showcase their capabilities and build relationships with government and industry partners worldwide.
During the ceremony, GEC also presented a Strategic Partner Appointment Letter to NAICO Malaysia, recognising its pivotal role in coordinating the development of Malaysiaโs aerospace ecosystem, advancing the Malaysia Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030, strengthening industry participation and facilitating collaboration between government, industry and academia.

The official programme included welcoming remarks, the handover of the participation contracts and Strategic Partner Appointment Letter. The ceremony formed part of GECโs ongoing international engagement at the FIA 2026, aimed at strengthening relationships with global industry stakeholders, attracting international exhibitors and creating new opportunities for collaboration at LIMA 2027.
LIMA 2027 will be held from April 20-24 2027 in Langkawi, Malaysia, bringing together government representatives, international delegations, industry leaders, exhibitors, technology providers, investors and strategic partners from around the world.
