DronTech Asia and CyberDSA Open For Business
DRONTECH Asia and Cyber Digital Services, Defence and Security Asia Exhibition and Conference (CyberDSA 2025) opened its doors at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. Held from Sept 30 until Oct 2, both events gathered government leaders, regulators, innovators, and industry stakeholders to shape the future of unmanned and cyber technologies across agriculture, construction, energy, defence, logistics, and more.
DronTech Asia was officiated by Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) Liew Chin Tong while Minister of Digital Gobind Singh Deo officiated CyberDSA. “Drone technology is advancing before our very eyes at a pace we have never seen before. To remain relevant, Malaysia must build capabilities to innovate, improvise, and integrate drones across security, agriculture, healthcare, and our existing industries. If we get our act together, Malaysia and ASEAN can become an interesting powerhouse in this field,” said the deputy minister.
On CyberDSA, the minister said, “Artificial Intelligence-driven (AI) attacks, supply chain vulnerabilities, and threats to operational technology and critical infrastructure are no longer distant concerns. They are real, evolving risks that can impact national security, economic stability, and public confidence. Cyber resilience is the foundation for economic progress and national security, while digital trust enables businesses to thrive, governments to govern effectively, and citizens to safely embrace the benefits of digital transformation.”
With representation from China, Malaysia, Turkiye, Indonesia, Singapore, Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, Kyrgyzstan, and South Korea, the exhibition reflects the sector’s truly international character. These countries collectively showcase a powerful mix of cutting-edge drone hardware, advanced software solutions, AI-driven applications, and next-generation unmanned systems — underscoring DronTech Asia’s role as the region’s premier gateway for innovation, collaboration, and market expansion in the drone and UAV industry.
Featuring over 75 participating companies from 10 countries, DronTech Asia brings together leading innovators and industry players, including Aonic, Alphaswift, Autel Robotics, CUAV Tech Inc, G7 Aerospace, Hobbywing, Jiaxing Mad Motor, Krumas, LRY Group, Malvus Sense, MRANTI, NAICO, Sky Hammer Electronic, Grepow Battery, WUAV Federation, among many others.
The event also held high-level discussions on Policy & Innovation: Shaping Malaysia’s Drone Ecosystem, Cross Border Corridors and ASEAN Sandbox Diplomacy, Investment , Innovation and Export Readiness. Whether you are an exhibitor, visitor, or delegate, this is the platform where knowledge is shared and partnerships are formed.
The opening also spotlighted National Aerospace Industry Corporation (NAICO) Malaysia, which is spearheading the development of the MyAERO Centre of Excellence. “The MyAERO Centre is closely aligned with the 13th Malaysia Plan, which identifies Advanced Air Mobility as a frontier industry. By leveraging its role as a national depository of knowledge and facilities, the MyAERO Centre will ensure Malaysia builds the technical, regulatory and industrial foundations needed to capture this opportunity,” said NAICO’s CEO Shamsul Kamar Abu Samah.
Aligned with the Malaysia Drone Technology Action Plan 2030 (MDTAP30) led by MRANTI, these initiatives reflect Malaysia’s coordinated approach to harmonise industry needs with international best practices. Speaking at the opening, Director of Aerosea Exhibitions (a DSA Company) and showrunner of DronTech Asia M. Gandhi said, “The low-altitude economy is no longer a distant prospect — it is a present-day opportunity. No nation can build this future alone. Regional cooperation is key. Imagine ASEAN as a connected low-altitude network, with harmonised regulations, cross-border drone corridors, and shared research. At the heart of this future are our young people. Drones are not just gadgets; they are gateways to careers, businesses, and global opportunities.”

CyberDSA drew trade professionals from 45 countries and 150 exhibitors from 15 nations to address the increasingly complex cybersecurity challenges shaping Asia and beyond. Under the theme “Pioneering the Future: Building a Resilient and Trusted Digital Nation”, CyberDSA 2025 serves as a platform to translate Malaysia’s national priorities into tangible solutions for regional cybersecurity and digital trust, driving capacity building, cross-border collaboration, adoption of best practices, and the development of robust digital infrastructure.
CyberDSA 2025 will also serve as a nexus to translate strategic discussions into real-world impact. The ASEAN Cyber Defence Network (ACDN) Meeting and Military Intelligence, Law Enforcement and Security Agencies Conference (MIESAC) provide platforms for regional leaders to align cybersecurity strategies, while the Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) Symposium explores operational resilience for enterprises across sectors.
Interactive initiatives such as the Hackathon, Flash Talk Zone, E-Games showcase, and hands-on OSINT and Offensive Training labs empower emerging talent to experiment, innovate, and tackle real-world cyber challenges. Dedicated Networking and B2B meetings further strengthen partnerships, ensuring that strategies discussed on the floor evolve into long-term alliances beyond the event.
Chairman of Aerosea Exhibitions Asmat Kamaludin said, “From the very beginning, CyberDSA was never about simply hosting another exhibition. It was about building a platform where governments, industries, defence authorities, and innovators could come together to chart the future of cybersecurity and digital resilience. Today, that vision has grown into a gathering of global influence, where ideas, partnerships, and innovation take centre stage. I encourage all participants to immerse themselves, exchange ideas, and collaborate — together, we strengthen resilience, deepen trust, and ensure CyberDSA remains the benchmark for cybersecurity excellence in the region and beyond.”
CyberDSA 2025 is jointly hosted by CyberSecurity Malaysia and the Defence Cyber and Electromagnetic Division (DCED) of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) underscoring the nation’s commitment to safeguarding its digital and defence ecosystems. The event is further strengthened through the support of the Ministry of Digital, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Defence, the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), MAF, the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), and the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB).
Both events are organised by Aerosea Exhibitions, however DronTech Asia will alternate annually between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok in partnership with GML Exhibition (Thailand) Co., Ltd, further expanding its international reach and influence. With momentum building, industry professionals, decision-makers, and investors are encouraged to take advantage of the next two days to witness the future of drones and AAM firsthand.–shp/adj/dl (Pix:DRONTECH,CYBERDSA)
