Malaysian-US Tiger Strike Exercise Concludes

Exercise Tiger Strike, the bilateral exercise between the Malaysian Army’s 10th Parachute Brigade and the United States Marine Corps 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit concluded after eight days of military drills around Terengganu.

The exercise involved hundreds of paratroopers, US Marines and US Navy personnel from the San Antonio-class landing platform dock USS Somerset which also took part in the drills. Throughout the exercise, various air, naval and ground assets were used, including the US Navy’s Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), USMC’s CH-53E Super Stallion, LAV-25 armoured reconnaissance vehicles and an H225M helicopter from the Royal Malaysian Air Force.

Deputy chief of the Malaysian Army, Lt Gen Muhammad Fauzi said that the bilateral engagement improved the operational capabilities and interoperability of all parties involved. “The most important aspect is that besides learning operational and strategic elements, all of our personnel involved can use this knowledge to train other members. In today’s world, we cannot work alone, hence the cooperation with the United States forces.
