Malaysian AIROD Signs Agreements With TAI and ASFAT In Ankara

In a promising development for the aerospace industry, AIROD have joined forces with Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc (TAI) as well as ASFAT Inc Military Factory and Shipyard Management (ASFAT) to advance collaborations between the respective parties.

Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc (TAI) and AIROD signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to in Ankara recently to explore potential synergies in marketing and sales of the former’s aerospace products.

The partnership will also focus on upgrades and modernisation across various aircraft platforms.

AIROD stated that its selection by TAI underscores the commitment to advancing the aerospace and aviation sector in Malaysia.

Witnessed by the Minister of Defence Malaysia, Mohamed Khaled Nordin, the Memorandum of Agreement was signed by TAI’s CEO Temel Kotil and AIROD Group President Edron Hayata Ahmad at TAI’s headquarters in Ankara.

“The collaboration is set to enhance the Malaysia-Türkiye diplomatic bilateral relationship and propel the Malaysian aviation defense industry to greater heights,” said Mohamed Khaled.

Edron Hayata expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the opportunity to bring together indigenous Turkish engineering expertise with Malaysian innovation in MRO-U activities.

The partnership aims to drive growth in the aviation defense sector and align with industry demands and international standards.

Speaking within the scope of the agreement, Kotil said: “We accelerated our collaboration towards new opportunities by expanding our office, which started operating as a design centre in Malaysia in 2021.

“By expanding our office, which was opened by Malaysian Minister of Defense Mohamed Khaled Nordin, we increased our efforts for new joint projects with Malaysia in the defense industry and aviation field. We will strive to further the close cooperation between the two countries in the future.”

ASFAT, AIROD sign agreement on technical, logistic services for A400M, S-70A, CN-235 and C-130

Meanwhile, ASFAT Inc Military Factory and Shipyard Management and AIROD Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) signed a Collaboration Framework Agreement (CFA) regarding technical and logistic services of A400M, S-70A, CN-235 and C-130 aircraft in Ankara.

AIROD Malaysia, in a press statement, said the partnership between it and ASFAT marks a significant step towards advancing the defence aerospace capabilities in which a Memorandum of Understanding between both organisations was signed at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aviation 2023 (LIMA 2023).

“The CFA, signed in Ankara with the presence of Minister of Defence Malaysia, Mohamed Khaled Nordin, signifies a strong commitment to collaboration and innovation in aerospace defence capabilities in the region, particularly on the A400M, S-70A, CN-235 and C-130 aircraft platforms.”

ASFAT Vice President, Betülhan Kahraman and AIROD Group President, Edron Hayata Ahmad, expressed full commitment for the cooperation, highlighting the strategic opportunity to combine Turkish and Malaysian military engineering capabilities and innovation in MRO-U activities.

The partnership aims to drive growth in the aviation defense sector and meet industry demands and international standards regionally.

Mohamed Khaled emphasised that this collaboration will strengthen the Malaysia-Turkiye diplomatic relationship and elevate the Malaysian aviation defense industry to new heights.

“The focus on the exchange of capability-building across various aircraft platforms showcases a dedication to both countries staying ahead in the industry.”
