Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2020 and NATSEC Asia 2020 series of exhibitions, have been rescheduled to Aug 24 to 27, 2020 due to concerns over the ongoing global outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. Defence Services Asia, Asia’s largest defence exhibition, has been staged biennially in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur since 1988.

The postponement was decided following careful consideration and consultations with Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs and stakeholders following the current uncertainties in the wake of the COVID-19 concern which has resulted in global travel disruptions and other circumstances, show organisers DSA Exhibition & Conference Sdn Bhd said. Both events, which were initially slated to be staged from April 20 to 23, will still be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.

Chairman DSA Exhibition & Conference Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin said: “The difficult decision was whole heartedly supported by all the stakeholders despite the fact that the event is scheduled to be held in about two months’ time.”

“With over 1,500 companies from 60 nations and 350 VIP delegations and more than 50,000 visitors from throughout the world expected to attend the exhibitions and conferences, this decision to postpone the event is the best solution under the current circumstances. We want to ensure a conducive business environment for participants, exhibitors and visitors alike,” he added

Nonetheless, he stressed that despite the rescheduling of the events, DSA 2020 and NATSEC Asia 2020 will continue to be a major platform for business discussions and the exchange of international defence technologies while at the same time increase cooperation in defence and security matters among nations.

With the theme Advancing into a New Era of Defence, the two exhibitions will showcase specialised segments not only for conventional defence equipment and systems but also cyber defence, unmanned systems and field medical equipment and systems. Apart from that, both exhibitions will give valuable opportunities for strategic cooperation, business and network collaboration among defence and security industry stakeholders as well as government departments.

DSA 2020 and NATSEC Asia 2020 is hosted and officially supported, and jointly-organised with the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Home Affairs. For further information please visit www.dsaexhibition.com
